The adventure has already begun!

Hello family and friends, or greetings as I like to say but Ryan makes fun of me :)

Well...it took us over 4 days of travel and about 1200 miles but...we made it to SPOKANE Washington! We thank the Lord for safe travels and this great adventure and opportunity ahead of us. What a beautiful and breathtaking place this is, and we are so excited to be here!
I decided to begin this blog to update everyone on our present adventures, as well as throwing in some stories from the past and future updates. With life being so up in the air I thought it would be a great way to let everyone know where we are at, what we are up to and show some pictures along the way.

Ryan officially started camp Thursday with the Spokane Shock arena football team. We got to go to lunch last week with the general manager and head coach of the team. We also got to go check out the facilities where Ryan will be practicing and working out. It was a comfort for me to see where Ryan will be spending a lot of his time and meeting some of the people he will be around. I know that Ryan will be well taken care of and he has a great opportunity here.

Arena football also seems to be a high-paced and explosive game that I am looking forward to watching. Some game will be shown on the NFL Network and I will keep you all updated so you can tune in. Ryan has been busy studying and memorizing the playbook. He has also already racked up many hours of studying film. The game has some differences from the outdoor game; some that I have picked up on: this field is smaller, only 50 yards long, the surface is almost carpet-like, only 8 plater on the field per team, the games are high scoring with few field goals, meaning lots of quarterback action! Get excited all!!

We have spent a little time exploring the area and plan to do much more. Downtown Spokane is beautiful with a river running right through it and a river-walk area with lots of entertainment. There is an indoor carousal, ferris wheel, a sky ride that goes over the falls and great shopping to name a few. The arena where Ryan's team will play is also located right next to this gorgeous area.

We are so blessed to be able to go through all these adventures and to be able to do them together is an even bigger blessing. We continue to pray for the Lord's direction, as we never know where the next adventure will take us. But this is such a great part of life, you never really know, and comfort is in knowing that God is in control.
